Okay, I’m “borrowing” this idea from another blog today as there seems to be a lack or original thought at my end.
I have hereby had my first of two vaccine shots. The whole appointment was uneventful and rather dull but at least it was on-time.
Still have to follow guidelines until everyone is far enough out of the pandemic woods but at least it’s a step forward. Only been 2 hours since the injection so now’s the time to see if there’s any discomfort or fatigue. Time will tell.
Personally I’m looking forward to participating in live gallery shows with an attending public once again!
I’ll start out by pledging not to whine on incessantly about this being yet another cold and rainy day. Art production will resume in due time.
I believe this little specimen serves well as an example how I’m looking at the whole situation…
Yesterday’s trip to Edwards Gardens was a resounding success with all the sunshine, fresh air and photographs taken. Some claim that the location is quite small compared to counterparts throughout other parts of the world but I’ll take this local attraction any afternoon of the week.
It was odd roaming about as in recent months, since late 2020, I’ve lost just over a quarter of my overall body weight. Not entirely used to long excursions so the energy level was pushed and I’ll definitely have to do much more during the summer.
So, without further delay, here’s the “proof” of my Sunday activities…
In an effort to enhance my “reputation” as a well-rounded and worldly artist I’ve decided to dedicating this afternoon to touring Edward’s Gardens – a local site well known for the variety of expertly maintained horticulture.
We know inspiration can be found in a variety of places and I definitely have to look away from the canvas at times so now is as good a time as any.
Always armed with my trusted iPhone camera the plants, sunshine & fresh air will not go to waste. Local guidelines allow for just such an excursion provided a couple of simple rules are observed; a small price to pay given the potential rewards,
In closing, try to make the most of your day and I’ll try not to overload you with a tsunami of flower photos at a later date. Deal?
So late in the evening last night I was reviewing several photographic websites and forums just out of basic curiosity. As an Abstract Painter an open mind is essential to stay creative and evolve. My own skills as an amateur part-time photographer are limited (and that’s being generous) so there’s no shortage of things to learn along the way.
Part of my interest lays in the area of creatively altering images to produce an artistic outcome. With varying success I’d like to think the effort is moving along well. Perhaps the following images will illustrate my earliest efforts…
Perhaps these photos provided display that gradually I’m picking up a trick or two over time. Perhaps they convey how well I copy the steps on a website opened off to the side. All I can claim is that there’s always a curiosity to explore and learn as part of my ever expanding horizon.
To cleanse the pallet from all the weekend excitement here’s something slightly more subdued. Still quite artistic but more down to earth.
So much can be accomplished simply by owning a cellphone camera and having way too much time on your hands.
Trying to keep this post lighter and slightly whimsical so what could be more suitable than a look back on the summer. Here we take a trip to the Royal Botanical Gardens in Glasgow, Scotland.
It was a remarkable opportunity to take photos of so many wonderful species in a variety of colours.
