With most of the day’s scheduled tasks and duties out of the way perhaps now would be a good time to settle into a comfortable chair and open a good book…
Here’s to the start of a new week free of rain and any adverse conditions. Should be the ideal environment for productive creativity!
With yesterday’s administration of a 2nd vaccine shot it’s safe to say we’re doing our part in the recovery. Still living in a state of heightened quarantine due to ongoing caregiver duties but it’s all worth it.
Good to see some restrictions being cautiously lifted provided everyone conducts themselves in a responsible manner. Only time will tell.
Until news arrives to do otherwise the masks stay in place and basic distancing guidelines are the rule of the day. Such a minor inconvenience considering all the good it will do for so many in the long run.
Weather conditions for today – very wet indeed! But in the spirit of making the most of the situation I decided to take a photo or two just to hopefully develop those skills further.
Jury is still out if there’s been any actual improvement.
Everything todays seemed to fall into place just right so I was determined to make the most of it. Shortly after dawn saw hours dedicated to the all-important art pursuits which were carried out as far as I could take them at that stage.
Throughout the remainder of the day I could be found mowing the lawn, washing the car, taking care of laundry along with the regular obligations already in place. I’m almost sure there are other completed task which came and went but I’m not the kind to make lists of such things.
Usually each day starts with only a rough idea what may actually go on since procrastination is still one of my more dominant traits. Luckily things do fall into place and get done for the most part.
Took a couple minutes for creative photography and editing for my own amusement. Some would consider the subject matter questionable but sometimes testing boundaries can yield favourable results.
Hopefully after the sun sets I won’t be left with the usual feeling that not much was done with the day at all. We’ll find out shortly.
Perhaps I’m jumping ahead of myself using that title. My enthusiasm comes from having everything set up and ready for painting tomorrow, all other tasks out of the way and weather conditions predicted that couldn’t be better.
There are a couple of creative ideas rolling around that I’m eager to try so all tools and materials are at the ready.
If my brain is even half functioning by the end of day tomorrow I’ll provide progress photos as proof that the day wasn’t wasted eating nachos and watching realty TV.
Sometimes investing a little time today can reap benefits for a long time to come. When you’re sure of the rewards to come it makes the initial effort so much easier to carry out. The past couple of days have been just such a case.
While conditions were certainly ideal for artistic pursuits there were matters which required immediate attention so priorities had to be addressed. Fortunately the hours of manual labour applied means an easier time for many months to come. It was time well spent.
Tasks were carried out and completed successfully with a little time left to prepare the room where summer painting is optimal. During the colder months it reverts back into a basically unremarkable living space. Such a preparation effort can be therapeutic when transitioning into full painting mode. With a few more touches in the morning everything will be complete and my own brand of creative chaos can begin.
Let the games begin…
Seems the near impossible is finally coming true with a full week of sunshine now upon us. With so much to do and only a limited number of hours a day this may require some scheduling gymnastics. Where there is a will..,
Okay, I’m “borrowing” this idea from another blog today as there seems to be a lack or original thought at my end.
I’ll start out by pledging not to whine on incessantly about this being yet another cold and rainy day. Art production will resume in due time.
I believe this little specimen serves well as an example how I’m looking at the whole situation…
