Busy, Busy, Busy

Everything todays seemed to fall into place just right so I was determined to make the most of it. Shortly after dawn saw hours dedicated to the all-important art pursuits which were carried out as far as I could take them at that stage.

Throughout the remainder of the day I could be found mowing the lawn, washing the car, taking care of laundry along with the regular obligations already in place. I’m almost sure there are other completed task which came and went but I’m not the kind to make lists of such things.

Usually each day starts with only a rough idea what may actually go on since procrastination is still one of my more dominant traits. Luckily things do fall into place and get done for the most part.

Took a couple minutes for creative photography and editing for my own amusement. Some would consider the subject matter questionable but sometimes testing boundaries can yield favourable results.

Hopefully after the sun sets I won’t be left with the usual feeling that not much was done with the day at all. We’ll find out shortly.

That’s More Like It!

Fortunately yesterday’s unreasonable weather was short lived and now noticeably improved. Still slightly cold for my purposes but that’s scheduled to improve during the coming days do we’ll just have to be content with sunshine.

In a couple days painting should resume but the shortage of supplies has me concerned. We’re trying to gradually work back from the pandemic so I have to take my lumps just like everyone else.

Tried experimenting with different approaches and materials but the results just weren’t all that impressive. Once you work out a way to create something memorable it’s hard to settle for second best.

But they say patience has it’s rewards so I’ll have to simply work away at planning and taking the occasional photo.

Making Due

Pandemic, shortage of Art Supplies and the lunacy of those around us who question if it’s all real; it’s enough to make any of us turn to blogging as a form of therapy.

I’m of the school where you simply make due with whatever is on hand. It may not be much and require compromise but at least it keeps everything moving forward.

Done!

I have hereby had my first of two vaccine shots. The whole appointment was uneventful and rather dull but at least it was on-time.

Still have to follow guidelines until everyone is far enough out of the pandemic woods but at least it’s a step forward. Only been 2 hours since the injection so now’s the time to see if there’s any discomfort or fatigue. Time will tell.

Personally I’m looking forward to participating in live gallery shows with an attending public once again!

A little something to symbolize our coming freedom!

Vaccine Time Approaches…

Just passing time as the last hours count down to the first vaccination shot. For some reason I was a little apprehensive last night; like a child who has to go for their very first shot at the doctor’s office. Now I’m more bored than anything else as there’s very little to do now and best not schedule anything major afterwards.

Imagining my vaccination will be administered by this character!

Progress!

Not at all art related but tomorrow I’ll be receiving the first of two vaccination shots. Sure, precautions are still going to be followed to the letter but I’m not going to complain about progress.

Out of respect for all here I pledge to try not to cry during the actual injection. At least I’ll try.

Spring Sprout

Being another slight chilly and very wet grey day I sought out something/anything to spark my imagination. Seems in recent months that outlet has become photography. I certainly have no aspirations to change direction away from abstract painting but having a variety of interests never hurts.

I’m usually looking at things we see everyday and trying to find a new approach. Sometimes it works but other times many photos are eventually deleted. It’s an ongoing trial and error process.

This morning was no different.

Again??

I’ll start out by pledging not to whine on incessantly about this being yet another cold and rainy day. Art production will resume in due time.

I believe this little specimen serves well as an example how I’m looking at the whole situation…

Rain Day

As it works out yesterday’s sunshine and productivity is followed by today’s overcast skies and rain. It does offer the opportunity to catch up on all the non-painting duties many artists have to contend with. Personally I still dream of an alternate reality where someone else takes care of administrative duties.

The only thing to do now is reflect on a recent walk that yielded some interesting photos.

Proof Positive! (almost)

Yesterday’s trip to Edwards Gardens was a resounding success with all the sunshine, fresh air and photographs taken. Some claim that the location is quite small compared to counterparts throughout other parts of the world but I’ll take this local attraction any afternoon of the week.

It was odd roaming about as in recent months, since late 2020, I’ve lost just over a quarter of my overall body weight. Not entirely used to long excursions so the energy level was pushed and I’ll definitely have to do much more during the summer.

So, without further delay, here’s the “proof” of my Sunday activities…
